Pay-and-display machines

There are approximately 200 pay-and-display machines in the City of Stockholm. The machines are digital and payment is made by card or the Swish mobile payment system.

Use the machine’s keyboard to enter your vehicle registration number, make your payment and request a receipt by email. 

The pay-and-display machines should be seen as an addition to the payment services of the selected contractors that have agreements with the City of Stockholm.

Payment at the machines is made by card, including fuel cards, or the Swish mobile payment system. Tickets and receipts can be received digitally by email or via the “P-kvitto” parking receipt service.

Receipts

You can receive a digital receipt for your parking session if you enter your email address when you park, or via the “P-kvitto” parking receipt service. In “P-kvitto”, you can view your parking sessions and download your receipts. Register an account and search for your parking sessions using your vehicle registration number and the last four digits of your card number. The service is free of charge.

The parking enforcement officers can see if you have paid

The parking enforcement officers check the vehicle’s registration number using their handheld computer and confirm whether a valid payment exists for the vehicle in question.

FAQ

No, the registration number can't be changed afterwards. You'll need to make a new purchase with the correct registration number.

Approved purchases cannot be cancelled or edited. A new purchase with the correct rate according to the street sign must be made.

The City doesn't refund incorrect purchases. The current rate is shown on the sign for the specific parking area or spot. It's important to check the signs and pick the right rate.

As a customer, you are responsible for checking the street's traffic sign before making a purchase. Refunds of paid parking fees can only be considered in case of a technical fault with our equipment, or if the spot was incorrectly signed.

For cancelled purchases, the transaction is only temporarily reserved with your bank/card issuer and will be automatically released. Note that this can take up to seven banking days.

The traffic office does not handle disputes over parking tickets, these are handled by the police. If you want to contest a parking ticket that you believe is wrong, you can find the address of the appeals authority/police on the ticket.
