Fees for parking motorcycles

Pay the fee according to the applicable rate for the space. If you park in a regular car park, you must pay the regular rate.

Use the payment services of the contractors with agreements with the City of Stockholm or pay the fee at a pay-and-display machine.

Regulations for parking motorcycles

In the City of Stockholm, two-wheeled motorcycles without a sidecar and two-wheeled class 1 mopeds without a sidecar must be parked in normal parking spaces or in parking spaces reserved for motorcycles.

  • A blue sign with a motorcycle symbol indicates that parking a two-wheeled motorcycle without a sidecar and a two-wheeled class 1 moped without a sidecar is permitted.
  • You must not park on a cycleway.
  • Microcars/moped cars are not permitted to park in parking spaces reserved for motorcycles. They must comply with the same parking regulations as standard cars.
  • In some cases, two front wheels are counted as one according to the Framework Regulation for Motorcycles

Resident parking for motorcycles

To park at the resident rate with a motorcycle, you must first have a valid resident parking permit, after which you can choose a monthly payment or a fee for 24 hours.

Parking a motorcycle in a resident space may only take place in car parks that have an information board for resident parking, for example “Boende Ö”.

The resident parking fee for motorcycles is reduced to a quarter of the normal fee. A valid residential parking permit is required.

Parking mopeds and bicycles

Class 2 mopeds have the same regulations as bicycles and must not be parked in a motorcycle parking space. If you have a two-wheeled class 2 moped or a bicycle, you may park it on a footway. However, you must never park it in such a way that it is hazardous to traffic or obstructs other traffic.

Parking electric bicycles

Unless the motor on your electric bicycle is too powerful, the same rules apply as for regular bicycles.
